Agitated Customer of Banks, Financial instituitions, and other Nuisances PART II

I am fed up of these tele-callers..the DO NOT CALL is a SCAM. it does NOT exist. Its just a cover up operation while these tele-marketers are happily just calling...

I have been called consistently by SBI, HDFC and Deutche bank about 4 days in a row at different times, each time my response was DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN.

AM guessing their phone recievers hear selectively. They call again. The next day. By another colleague of theirs. Really pathetic.

Wish we had a forum where compaints could be lodged for companies in India(a bit like the quaint Letters to the Editor) a favorite passtime of my family and close friends, who use the forum to point out shabby roads, bad train/bus services, good Auto drivers etc.. Me ? i just blog...

HOwever, there seems to be link http://www.hellopeter.com/.The website is a forum for customers to lodge complaints and for suppliers or service providers to respond.

The website is run by Peter Cheales, author of the book I Was Your Customer. According to Cheales, if you don't give the customer what he wants, when he wants it and how he wants it, he'll find someone else who will. The link seems more active in South Africa.

Hmm... most of us have experienced this, sometime or the other.

You may lodge complaints with the National Do Not Call registry
http://ndncregistry.gov.in/ndncregistry/contactUs.jsp

and go to the banks that are bugging you to their do not call links.
Eg, SBI Cards has this link https://www.sbicard.com/sbi/donotcall.jsp

Yeah, registering with the DNC takes some time, upto 45 days.. as mentioned in the DNC website.

Cheers,
Vivek

PS: Nice blog :)

Next time just tell them - I want the loan but dont have the money to repay it. They wont dare call you again. Believe me it works. :)

As much as I have been told by the Management that these teledudes and dudettes also have jobs to hold on to and mouths to feed, I still cannot sympathise with these folks. They have developed a knack of calling you when you are not in the right frame of mind to receive any calls. 'Persistence' and a 'ne'er say die' attitude is their gold medal. You tell them nine times that you are not interested and they still persevere in calling u that 10th time. What irritates me the most is when they start off with "I am calling from xxx bank" when you most definitely know he is calling from some hole in the wall Commission Agency. I would think of entertaining his call if he were honest about the institution that he is working for. These days i just cut the line mid sentence.

Thanks Adi and that sounds good :) Have these days started saying " I have filed a case on your company, and whats your Name ? will add it to my case file" and they just hang up.

I dont intend to be rude..it just that our phone numbers seem to be so much accessible to just about everyone.

Thanks Stan. Yes i know, i used to do tele-interviews as a student with one of the Market Research agencies for some quick change..

But these used to be with people who knew we are going to call them up, and then we fixed up time..

The tele-callers tehse days have gotten to be so much common and call up at afternoon hours..so u can imagine if there are retired parents at home, this just ruins their afternoon rest. bad enough my folks find it difficult to use the mobile, worse is waking up just to answer a tele-marketer. That just sucks.

Do these tele-callers, actually have any HIT rate at all. Are these banks actually winning customers like this ? One wonders...

Oh yes you must add pesky Courier delivery boys to the list of mid afternoon bell ringing. Your friendly neighborhood postman just drops off the letter under the door without ringing the bell. Bur our courier delivery nut cases insist on getting ur signature and phone number on two slips of paper and gives you some promotional brochure from the new mall thats coming up at some place in Bhayandar when you are staying at Bandra.

COurier is another reason my dad prefers to live wherever i Do..the anonymity alone makes him move..untill my mom pointed out(her cold voice of reason etc) that the courier guy only means information on financials, and that means its a good thing we have courier. Thats just her. She sees the cgood, in every thing i can ramble on...
